Through the fellowship, I learned a lot about open-source software development, working with a remote team, and collaborating with mentors and other contributors. JupyterLab extensions are npm packages (the standard package format in Javascript development). The extensions are really powerful tools that can really enhance a person’s productivity. The Git extension is a user-friend add-on for JupyterLab that allows users to do basic git actions with a point-and-click interface. It was an amazing journey working on JupyterLab Git, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to contribute to an open-source project that's widely used in the data science community.
